It is a trip of around 2 hours by jeep.

   In Gavidia we start our trek, and as we hike through the paramo region (the high country made up of mountains an valleys), the panorama offer us mountain lakes, rivers, and a lot of frailejones (a typical plant of the high Andes).

   The path starts at 3000m and goes up to 4100m at the Alto de Santo Cristo, from where we descend to the 3600m at Laguna Santo Cristo.

   Here we camp for the night.

Day 2:
   After breakfast we leave to hike back to Gavidia, where a jeep will wait for us to drive back to Merida.
